Boiler Upgrade Scheme

Get £7,500 off your Air Source Heat Pump install

What Is The Boiler Upgrade Scheme?

The Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) supports the decarbonisation of heat in buildings. It provides upfront capital grants to support the installation of heat pumps and biomass boilers in homes and non-domestic buildings in England and Wales.

Acting on behalf of you, ECS can apply for £7,500 off the cost and installation of an air source heat pump

£450 million of grant funding is available until 2028.

More About BUS

The scheme is designed to minimise the amount of work property owners need to do. It is ‘installer-led’, which means ECS installer will:

  • make a BUS application on your behalf
  • liaise with Ofgem on most matters related to the scheme
  • tell Ofgem when they’ve installed your heating system
  • claim the money from Ofgem at the end of the project

The grant value will be deducted from your quote upfront and ECS are responsible for passing on the discount that the BUS grant provides to you, the property owner.

Giving your consent

After ECS has submitted an application for your property, Ofgem will contact you to confirm that:

  • you have consented to the installer making the application on your behalf
  • you meet the relevant eligibility criteria for the scheme

If Ofgem do not receive your confirmations of the above within 14 calendar days, they may reject the application.

2

Free home survey

We will book in a free home survey on a date and time suitable for you. On this survey we will talk you through your options and give you guidance on how much money and carbon you could possibly save by installing an Air Source Heat Pump, either as a standalone or hybrid heating system.
3

ECS applies for the voucher

Once you accept your quote ECS applies for the Boiler Upgrade Scheme Voucher, you are not committed to anything until this voucher has been issued
4

Professional installation

Once the voucher has been issued we will book. you in for your installation on a date agreed with you. The engineers will keep things nice and tidy while they work and keep you informed on what’s happening.
5

Aftercare and support

On completion of work, ECS redeems the voucher and supplies you with a handover pack which includes all of your warranties and documentation. The engineer will walk you through everything you need to know before leaving.

Who Is Eligible ?

The scheme is open to domestic and small non-domestic properties in England and Wales.
New build properties are not eligible for the scheme, with the exception of certain ‘self-builds’.

In order to be eligible, a self-build must:

  • have been built mainly using the labour or resources of the first owner
  • never have been owned by a business or organisation

Grants are not available for:

  • social housing – that is, any rental or owned accommodation that’s provided at lower than market value to people that could not have afforded it otherwise (including arrangements like shared ownership)
  • properties that have already received government funding or support for a heat pump or biomass boiler

Why Use ECS

ECS are an experienced and trusted name in Air Source Heat Pump installations.

We’re passionate about providing the very best service, every time
Your peace of mind is of paramount importance to us, not least because much of our plumbing and heating work comes from existing customers and their recommendations. This is why we have our company policies in place, to protect you and ensure our service is always of the highest levels.

The work was carried out within the timescale that was set from when they started to when they finished. The installers put down a protection to keep the floors clean and at the end of each day they tidied up any mess that they had made. They were friendly and listened to any concerns that I had and rectified all problems raised
